Fraud in Scotland rocketed to its highest ever level last year, nearly trebling the figure recorded in 2005, according to KPMG Forensic’s Fraud Barometer. The year saw 22 Scottish cases reaching court, the largest number ever recorded in the 20 year history of the Barometer. The 22 cases north of the border were worth £50m, compared to 15 cases worth £18m in 2005.
