Shred It!

Small firms warned on corporate ID fraud

Do you have a shredding policy and is it enforced?  Research has revealed that only 4% of businesses successfully destroy all sensitive information, despite 93% saying they take identity fraud seriously.

The research was gathered by raiding the bins of small businesses in London.  It found that 40% threw away sensitive client information and 30% disposed of data that would benefit their competitors.

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) is urging the UK's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to take more precautions to avoid falling victim to this type of crime.
